Do you have any guilty pleasures or is it important for you to live this life 24/7? How do you view “guilty pleasures”?

I don’t believe in “guilty pleasures.” Instead, I think it’s important to listen to and respect our bodies, and make choices that are most beneficial for our overall well-being – mind, body and soul. I enjoy smoothies, eating salads, going to bed early, reading, and spending time in nature. However, I also enjoy burgers, fries, sleeping in, and watching reality TV. Recognizing that we are multifaceted individuals, I believe finding a healthy balance between our physical and mental needs is essential for optimal health. Nothing is bad or forbidden.

What does wellness mean to you?

To me, wellness involves respecting your authentic self and choosing actions that align with who you are. This means embodying love, setting healthy boundaries, making daily choices that nurture your personal growth, and practicing self-compassion in your self-talk. While healthy eating and exercise are important components of wellness, treating yourself with kindness and cultivating a positive self-image are equally crucial.

Have you always been into wellness or did you one day realize the importance of it?

Experiencing emergency brain surgery in 2015 was a significant catalyst for me to focus on my holistic well-being. This life-altering event made me realize the value of life and the significance of taking care of my mind, body, and soul daily by implementing healthy choices and routines. Consequently, I made several lifestyle changes, such as altering my diet, incorporating meditation and journaling into my daily routine, engaging in Pilates three to four times a week, establishing personal boundaries, and surrounding myself with supportive individuals.

How do you get back on track once you fall off the wagon?

I simply remind myself of the person I am striving to become and what I want to achieve. I understand that in order to reach my objectives, I must dedicate myself to the hard work required to attain them. Keeping the ultimate outcome in mind motivates me to persevere even when things feel difficult.
