What does wellness mean to you?

To me, wellness means taking care of myself. Mentally, emotionally, and physically. It means saying yes to things that fuel me with joy and energy. It means setting boundaries and saying no to people who do not add value to my life. Wellness is knowing that my health and ability to function day to day is the most important thing, and taking steps to care for myself so I can show up at my best every day.

How do you get back on track once you fall off the wellness wagon?

When I’m in a rut or having an off day, I just remind myself I feel better when I move my body. Be it a walk, or 20 minutes on my peloton bike, or just dancing around my apartment to music (singing along to Confidence from The Sound of Music works wonders). Just deciding right now I am going to do something small that I know will make me feel better always helps.

Do you have any guilty pleasures or is it important for you to live this life 24/7? How do you view “guilty pleasures”?

I don’t believe in guilty pleasures. If it brings you pleasure, you have no reason to feel guilty. The last few years really shown me life is short, and we can’t take a single day for granted. We should all do our best to enjoy it while we can (mindfully, keeping the wellness of others in our thoughts, too). But eat the cookie! Watch 40 hours of Love Island UK! Do not deprive yourself of the things that make you feel happy.
