Just like our hands, our feet are one of the most used parts of our body. Whether you work in an office, a factory, a field, a hospital, or anything in between, there is a good chance that you put a lot of weight and stress on your feet every day. Stress can manifest itself in the other parts of our body outside of the typical back pain. Daily fatigue and not resting our feet enough can lead to our bodies feeling a little more lethargic than usual, which can lead to restless legs, lack of sleep, or an increase in irritability and/or pain. People often opt for massages, so it makes sense that we incorporate foot massages into our lives too, right? Here at sundays we’ve created a holistic massage experience that explores the ancient rituals of Asian medicine with a modern-day twist on nail wellness to give your tired feet a reset. Our Ancient Rituals Foot Soak uncovers the ultimate blend of relaxation, rejuvenation, and health benefits that go into soaking your feet in an herbal blend of warm water that you’ll want to experience as a continuous journey of your well-being.
Benefits of Soaking Your Feet
Widely used in Asian traditions, foot soaks are a therapeutic experience that rejuvenizes tired feet with a warm blend of herbs and fresh ingredients known to boost wellness. For centuries, it has helped with sleep and relaxation by calming the nervous system, removing body toxins, providing pain relief, and more.
Amy’s grandmother is known to soak her feet every night in ginger before bed and uses it to prep her body for sleep. A year after experiencing a hip injury, Amy’s grandmother was able to bounce back fully recovered and she gives credit to her daily foot soaks.
Our Ancient Rituals Foot Soak uses a hot stone ritual in the massage experience that applies pressure to specific points known to stimulate certain parts of your body. This technique has been proven to help with tension and pain relief, better sleep, and a boost in blood circulation and overall body function.
The benefits of our Ancient Rituals Foot Soak may include its ability to stimulate nerve function, increase energy, boost circulation, induce a deep state of relaxation, and eliminate toxins from the body. Moreover, it might help prevent migraines and help relieve menstrual and pregnancy-related pain. This type of foot massage may also speed up recovery after an injury or surgery, help with mobility & agility, reduce alertness and sleep disorders, and relieve anxiety and pain.
Experience The Ancient Rituals Foot Soak
Whether it is your first time, second, or third, experiencing our Ancient Rituals Foot Soak is in itself an experience that helps you connect with yourself all over again, each visit being just as great as your first time. To help situate and relax your body for a foot soak you will be welcomed with a warm blend of goji berry and rose tea. As you sit back in a soothing spa-like setting with soft music, low lights, and aromatherapy via your choice of massage oil you will be able to see the setup of your soak. Our process starts by pouring warm coconut milk into a bowl of water, carefully placing fresh cucumber slices and fresh ginger into the herbal mix, and adding goji berries and rose petals into the blend. Your soak begins the moment your tired feet immerse into the herbal blend and lasts for 10 minutes, allowing your skin to soak in the fresh ingredients.
The warm coconut milk hydrates and smooths the skin helping to increase skin elasticity while fresh cucumber further hydrates and soothes irritated skin, reducing swelling and stiffness. Fresh ginger slices help reduce inflammation and calm the nervous system. Ginger is a natural ingredient known for helping remove bacteria and fighting off viruses from the body. Last but not least, the goji berries, a superfood rich in antioxidants popularly known for their anti-aging benefits, supports healing, and boosts overall mood to further calm your senses and put your mind at ease.
When your 10 mins of soaking have concluded your technician will wrap your feet in a warm towel and perform a hot stone massage with your choice of either rose or ginger oil. Many will begin by gently smoothing oil or cream on your legs and feet. Next, they’ll place moderate pressure on one foot at a time using different techniques and adding to the intensity of the pressure to your liking, working their way up to your lower leg. For 10 minutes she will apply pressure on specific points along your foot that eases stress and helps your body to relax. You’ll enter a state of calmness and relaxation where you might get sleepy, and that’s okay! After all, it is meant to do just that, promote better sleep. You might even feel a rush of emotions as energy moves through your body.
At the end of your session, you will feel energized or have a sense of calmness in you. When we created the Ancient Rituals Foot Soak our goal was to provide guests a chance to reconnect with their wellness via the body, mind, and soul. There are many ways we can meditate and experience this journey and we welcome all forms of relaxation. Our Ancient Rituals Foot Soak can be performed independently or paired with our Signature Pedicure to further elevate your experience.
